Spain To Host IBA Youth Men’s and Women’s 2022 World Boxing Championships

The Spanish city in the Alicante region, La Nucia, will host the 2022 IBA Men’s and Women’s Junior Boxing World Championships at the Ciudad Deportiva Camilo Cano stadium. The dates are set for November 14-26.

‘Many of the fans have seen our junior boxers at the various continental tournaments, and it is time for them to shine on the international stage. Some of the boxers could very well become superstars in our sport, and this is a unique time to see their first steps towards elite boxing. This is a great opportunity to discover new talents and show passion for our sport,” said IBA President Umar Kremlev.

‘Spain has many talented young boxers, and this IBA World Junior Boxing Championship will boost the development of boxing in the country. I want to thank the Spanish Boxing Federation for their hard work to make this tournament a success,” he added.

The Spanish Boxing Federation turns 100 in 2022, and this championship will become its first world-class event. Previously, Spain only hosted continental-level events.

The president of the Spanish Boxing Federation, Felipe Martínez, looks forward to welcoming athletes from all over the world to his home country.

“We are excited about the challenge of hosting such an important competition that has never been held in Spain before. We know that these are going to be intense months, but both my team and I are willing to do our best to achieve success as hosts. It should become a great finishing touch to the 100 years of life of our Federation’, said Martínez.
