La Liga giants Real Madrid are exploring the possibility of signing Brazilian striker Gabriel Jesus from Arsenal.

Gabriel Jesus entered the Palmeiras academy at a very young age. The striker later graduated from the Palmeiras academy and was promoted to the main team.

Jesús made an instant impact and helped Palmeiras win the Bola de Ouro trophy. He was awarded as the Best Newcomer in his debut season in the Brazilian Serie A. The following year, Gabriel Jesus received the Bola de Ouro or best player award for helping Palmeiras win their first national league title in 22 years.

After his exploits with the Brazilian team, the striker signed for Manchester City of the English Premier League. At City he showed his versatility and played in all three forward positions. Gabriel Jesús won ten major honors with the English club, including four EPL titles. Finally, he signed for Arsenal at the beginning of the season.

According to a report by the Spanish outlet, Real Madrid, the defending champion of La Liga, wants to sign Gabriel Jesús next summer.

Real Madrid, the defending UEFA Champions League champions, have already qualified for the round of 16. He has also had a great start to the season in La Liga. The whites have ten wins in their first twelve games.

With thirty-two points from these twelve matches, they are currently in pole position. However, there is something that has worried the Real Madrid management in recent weeks: a suitable backing for Karim Benzema.

French striker Karim Benzema had a stellar last season. He scored 44 goals in all competitions helping Real Madrid defend the La Liga title and regain the UCL. As a result, the Frenchman won the Ballon d’Or award. However, on this occasion, the striker has missed quite a few games after suffering multiple injuries.

His direct backer, Mariano Diaz, has failed to impress so far. Hence, the Italian coach used Rodrygo in the middle. The Brazilian winger has done quite well in his makeshift position, but Real Madrid are now thinking of having someone who can play a traditional number 9 role.

At 27 years old, Gabriel Jesus is currently in his prime. The striker has already scored five goals and provided six assists so far. The whites tried to sign him last summer but they did not succeed because they did not have enough extra-community quota.

Now, they have fixed this problem and can sign players in the extra-community quota. That is why they have revived their interest in the Brazilian striker.

Arsenal, however, are clearly not interested in selling their new number 9. He is one of the most important players in their squad. Arteta wants to have it for many more years.
