Most popular soccer websites in United States

With millions of soccer fans following the beautiful game in the United States, what are the most popular soccer websites?

According to Comscore, the leading audience measurement company, the answers may surprise you. Yes, there are literally thousands of websites that focus on sports, but most fans rely on a select number of sites for their football news and analysis.

Top 10 soccer websites

Here are the most popular soccer sites, according to Comscore:

Goal.com90min.comThe18.comUSSoccer.comWorldSoccerTalk.comFIFA.comMLSsoccer.comFootball.LondonPremierLeague.comRealMadrid.com

Many of the websites mentioned above have come a long way since 2008. At the time, sites like ManUtd.com, UEFA.com, Big Soccer and Arsenal.com were more popular. In 2008, Soccernet.com was number one, which was later acquired by ESPN.

Speaking of ESPN, the above metrics are based on English-speaking visitors for the month of September 2022 only. The websites presented are soccer specific. Sites like ESPN, CBS, and NBC, for example, are not included because they cover a variety of sports that skew the numbers.

Rankings likely to change

With the World Cup in 2022, the rankings of the most popular football websites are likely to change slightly. After all, websites like FIFA.com and USSoccer.com are sure to see an increase in traffic.

It will be interesting to see how club/league specific websites, such as the Major League Soccer website, perform given that their 2022 season will be over.

Questions?

Let us know what questions you have about the previous rankings of the most popular soccer websites and if you want to see more of these in the future.

Note, again, that the rankings are based on English websites only. Spanish websites are not included. That’s nothing against Spanish sites, but ours is focused solely on English audiences.
