Man United have “first option” on Joao Felix as Atletico Madrid issue fresh demands – Man United News And Transfer News

Manchester United have received fresh demands from Atletico Madrid regarding the transfer of Joao Felix as the search for the striker intensifies.

Yesterday, Fabrizio Romano reported that the Red Devils had established contact with Jorge Mendes and told the super agent that they are willing to incorporate him into their ranks but on the condition that the Spanish club lowers its demands.

United are said to be willing to part with €4m for a loan deal for Felix, while Atlético are demanding €12m, already a reduction from the originally reported €15m.

Félix’s departure from the Wanda Metropolitano is almost guaranteed with the player’s relationship with Diego Simeone at a boiling point.

The Mirror reports: “Atletico Madrid demand a £9.5m loan fee and a commitment to buy out £70.5m from Manchester United as Joao Félix negotiations intensify.”

“Them [United] have intensified their search with agent Jorge Mendes meeting Atleti chief executive Miguel Ángel Gil on Thursday to present United’s initial offer of a £3m direct loan and a commitment to cover the player’s wages.

“La La [sic] The league giants have rejected that offer and want a response from United by the middle of this week on whether they will match their valuation.”

Tom Hopkinson and Jacob Leeks broadcast that United have the first option on Felix.

United will have a strict 48 hours to respond and match any offer Atlético receives for Felix.

Beyond United, Arsenal are also very interested in signing the 23-year-old and have communicated their intention to Mendes.

Mendes will hold further talks with Arsenal tomorrow in an effort to reach an agreement.

It remains to be seen if United makes another offer after the initial one was rejected.
