The Parisians took the lead in the 36th minute of the game after a shot from the spot by Kylian Mbappé. They entered the locker room with a 1-0 lead but didn’t look comfortable.

After the break, Benfica leveled after receiving a penalty that Joao Mario converted. Both teams then failed to score any more goals and the match ended in a 1–1 draw.

Lionel Messi throws a cold look after Kylian Mbappé’s goal

Argentinian superstar Lionel Messi is currently dealing with a calf injury he sustained in last week’s Champions League match for PSG against Benfica.

The PSG star missed last weekend’s Ligue 1 tie against Stade de Reims, which ended in a 0-0 draw. He was then left out of the PSG squad that faced Benfica at home.

However, Lionel Messi was present during the match in the stands. Even this was normal. However, something unnatural happened when Lionel Messi showed no emotion after Kylian Mbappé’s penalty goal.

Earlier in the day, reports from Spanish newspaper Marca indicated that French superstar Kylian Mbappe is genuinely unhappy with the current situation at his club.

Things are so bad that the striker wants to leave PSG during the next winter market. After a lot of drama, Mbappé signed a contract extension with Paris Saint-Germain at the beginning of this season.

Since then, the striker has been involved in many controversies. He reportedly got into a fight with fellow PSG player Neymar. Neymar is also one of the closest to Lionel Messi.

A few days ago, the Argentine striker praised Mbappé and said that he will continue to be one of the best players in the future. But now this cold look after Mbappé’s goal has given rise to many rumours.

PSG suffered another blow when Mbappé had to leave the match with a sore ankle. The striker’s availability will now be uncertain in Christophe Galtier’s side’s next match against rival Marseille.

However, Lionel Messi is expected to return to the starting lineup. And the Argentine will hope to carry his pre-injury form now.
