Leti’s Do It Again – Conor Wallace to re-run ‘Insane War’

Conor Wallace [9(6)-1(0)] is ready for war with Leti Leti [16(12)1(0)] again after confirming that he will give the Samoan native a rematch in November.

The light heavyweight from Newry lost his Australian title to the experienced fighter after a thrilling 10 rounds on the Gold Coast last year.

The 26-year-old came off the wrong end of a majority decision to suffer the first loss of his career and will now look to exact revenge on the contrary in a brilliantly named ‘November Reigns card’ at Fortitude Music Hall on November 5.

Wallace called for a rematch with Leti Leti immediately after the loss, but has since outboxed a fighter who hasn’t fought since their first meeting in the spring of last year.

The Australia-based Ulsterman produced one of the Irish performances of the year to massively change the trajectory of his career last time out.

The light heavyweight beat a top 10 world-ranked fighter on a world title card to become continental champion in just his 10th fight.

Wallace gave two fingers to ample pre-fight odds and upset world title contender Faris Chevalier to win the vacant WBA Oceania and IBF Pan Pacific belts on the undercard of Maris Briedis and Jai Opetai’s Warrensman Boxing hyped the title fight. IBF Cruiserweight World Championship.

It’s the kind of victory that should have pushed Wallace to bigger things and beyond a Leti Leti rematch. However, he has unfinished domestic business that he wants to take care of first and will fight the only victor of him before the year is out.
