Juventus loanee De Winter suffers an injury blow at his temporary homeJuvefc.com

Juventus youngster Koni De Winter picked up an injury while on loan at Empoli in a major blow to his development.

The Belgian has enjoyed a good loan spell with the Blues this season and has made at least seven league appearances.

The Bianconeri had sent him there to give him more chances to play and Empoli have complied thanks to his good performances for them.

However, a report on Tuttomercatoweb reveals that the defender suffered a hamstring injury that will keep him out of action for a while.

This is a big blow for him because he was making good progress there and now he will have to come back and fight for his place in the first team.

Juve FC says

Injuries are a big part of football, De Winter will learn that very early on and this injury could teach him a lesson in how to take care of himself.

At 20 years old, he is still very young and we expect him to come back much stronger and regain a place in the Empoli team.

If he does well in this loan spell, he could return and have first-team opportunities at Juve next season.
