“I’m happy with how he’s developing” – Allegri praises Matias Soulé

Despite his lack of playing time in the early stages of the campaign, Matias Soulé undoubtedly remains one of Juventus’ most prized young gems.

The 19-year-old is originally a winger or even a second striker, but started in a deeper role against Cremonese on Wednesday due to the absence of Juan Cuadrado. The Argentine put in a decent performance at right-back and was arguably the team’s most dangerous player in the first half, testing Marco Carnesecchi with two shots on target.

Therefore, Max Allegri only had words of praise for the youngster who is gradually becoming a great player.

The coach insists that Soulé already possesses the necessary physical attributes that allow him to play for the first team, although he still needs time to further improve his skills and gain some experience.

Allegri seems to appreciate the star’s ability to cover multiple positions, as his versatility should come in handy as the campaign progresses.

“Physically ready? Yes, absolutely, he would be ready. I am evaluating whether to let Matías play as a winger, as he did the other day when he gave us a great hand”, Allegri said during the press conference prior to the game on Friday published by ilBianconero.

“However, he has more offensive qualities. He can play as a forward, or enter the pitch as a winger. He has quality and quantity.

“I am happy with how it is developing. As I always say, everyone is growing and young players need time to develop, both technically and physically.”
