Gary Neville has backed Manchester United to finish in the top four in the Premier League this season.

The Red Devils have bounced back from a disastrous start to the 22/23 season and sit fifth in the points table.

Man Utd had fallen to defeats in their first two games of the 22/23 Premier League season. The Old Trafford outfit hosted Brighton & Hove Albion in their first league game and suffered a 2-1 loss at the hands of the Seagulls.

Manchester United then faced Brentford in an away game and suffered a humiliating defeat. In a disastrous performance, Man Utd lost the game to the home team 4-0.

The Red Devils, however, have only lost one game in the league since losses in their first two matches. Since then, they have played 10 matches in the English top flight and have recorded seven wins, two draws and one loss in those matches.

Man Utd’s last Premier League win came against West Ham United on Sunday. They hosted West Ham at Old Trafford and won the game 1-0.

Marcus Rashford scored the only goal of the game, finding the net with a towering header in the 38th minute of the match to earn Man Utd all three points.

Speaking to Sky Sports after the match, Neville said that Man Utd have a “great chance” of finishing in the top four this season.

“I think now they have a great opportunity to finish in the top four, a great opportunity,” Neville said. “Enough is happening at Chelsea, Liverpool and Tottenham for United to feel confident that they can get past that group. I never would have thought that four or five weeks ago.”

Meanwhile, victory over West Ham brings Man Utd’s points tally to 23 points from 12 matches. They are two points ahead of Chelsea and seven points above Liverpool.

Meanwhile, Tottenham Hotspur sit third in the table, with 26 points from 13 games. But Spurs have played one more game than Man Utd.

Man Utd, meanwhile, are eight points behind Arsenal, who top the table. The Gunners secured a resounding 5-0 victory over Nottingham Forest on Sunday. That result returns them to the top of the table, where they have 31 points in 12 games.
