PSG News: Manager Christophe Galtier has defended Neymar Jr after the Brazilian’s reaction to being substituted during their Ligue 1 match against Lyon.
PSG maintained their unbeaten start to the 22/23 season as they took on Lyon in the French top flight and secured a 1-0 win.
Lionel Messi scored after five minutes of play to give PSG another three points. It was Neymar Jr who assisted the Argentine in the only goal of the PSG match. Messi passed the ball to Neymar, who returned it to the Argentine who fired a first-half shot that found the back of the net.
Neymar did not appear for PSG until the end of the game, with manager Galtier choosing to replace the 30-year-old towards the end.

Galtier replaced Neymar with the summer signing of Carlos Soler in the 88th minute of the game. Neymar seemed disappointed by the substitution, but Galtier, speaking after the game, defended the Brazilian attacker.
Galtier praised Neymar and Messi, who he said stood out in their 1-0 win over Lyon in Ligue 1. The PSG manager admitted Neymar was a bit angry about the substitution, but insisted it was “normal”. .
Galtier said: “In these matches, the great players have to stand out like Ney and Messi tonight who were very good. Neymar has worked a lot for the team. He came out, in my opinion, a little flushed and a little angry, but that’s normal. He has impeccable behavior.”
For his part, Neymar has had a great start to the 22/23 season with PSG. He had endured a disappointing campaign at PSG in the 21/22 season.
However, Neymar has looked back on his prime this season, with the Brazilian starring for PSG in several of their games so far this season.
So far he has made 11 appearances for PSG this season and has scored 11 goals for the French club, averaging one goal per game. Neymar started his season in style by scoring twice in PSG’s 4-0 victory over Nantes in the Trophee des Champions final.
Neymar has also provided eight assists so far this season, an impressive figure. Seven of his assists came in Ligue 1, the last of which was given to Messi in the win over Lyon.
