Confirmed: Christian Eriksen named in Denmark World Cup squad – Man United News And Transfer News

Manchester United midfielder Christian Eriksen has been included in Denmark’s final World Cup squad list.

The Dane will join his fellow nationals to fly to Qatar as they look to pull off a major upset at the tournament.

Denmark are not one of the favorites to lift the World Cup trophy, but they have it in them to be the dark horses and surprise everyone.

In previous tournaments Denmark have been brilliant and they will need to be brilliant again in Qatar.

Eriksen is the only United player in the squad and, as he has been for the Red Devils this season, he will be a vital component in midfield, where he will be partnered with Tottenham’s Pierre-Emile Højbjerg.

The 30-year-old United star arrived at Old Trafford on a free transfer from Brentford and quickly cemented his status as the team’s driver.

The Old Trafford faithful have so far been impressed by Eriksen’s technical brilliance, incredible passing range and ability to create chances from deep.

In a 4-2 Carabao Cup win against Aston Villa, the Dane came on and made a brilliant impact.

In the 30 minutes he was on the pitch, Eriksen recorded 100% passing accuracy and created an incredible five chances.

Denmark national team boss Kasper Hjulmand will relish his team’s chances in midfield against rivals with Eriksen there.

Denmark’s first match will be against Tunisia in Group D.

Eriksen will face a familiar foe in Raphael Varane when his side play France on November 26. Certainly a game that United fans are looking forward to.
