Chelsea intend to sign Wolves right-back Nelson Semedo

Now, according to a report from English Premier League giants Simon Phillips, Chelsea are exploring the possibility of signing Portuguese full-back Nelson Semedo from Wolves.

Chelsea’s starting right-back, Reece James, suffered an injury during a UEFA Champions League match against Italian Serie-A side. Since then, the fullback has been sidelined. he’s going to be gone for a long time.

In the absence of Reece James, Chelsea manager Graham Potter had to play Cesar Azpilicueta, Ruben Loftus Cheek, Raheem Sterling and Cristian Pulisic in that right-back role. This shows how skinny they are currently in the right rear position.

Hence, Chelsea want to sign a new right back who can become a good substitute for Reece James. Now, his target Nelson Semedo’s contract with Wolves is due to expire at the end of the season. Although Wolves have the option to extend their contract, he is not sure if they will exercise it.

Semedo in recent weeks has lost his place in the Wolves lineup. The full-back has made just four starts this season. With Wolves languishing in the relegation zone, he will surely agree to a move to Chelsea.

Known for his pace, ball control, dribbling and crossing, Nelson Semedo is an ideal player for Graham Potter’s side. He can play both right back and right back. His inclusion will surely give Chelsea the depth he badly needs at that position.
