Barcelona hands Juventus a boost in chase of Benjamin Pavard

Juventus want to sign Benjamin Pavard, and they might have an easy way to add the World Cup winner to their squad at the end of this season.

Barcelona had also been interested in a move for him, and the Catalans were considered a club that could beat Juve on his transfer.

However, a report on Calciomercato.it reveals that the Catalans have now turned their attention to Borussia Dortmund’s Thomas Meunier and will no longer seek his signature.

This means that Juve can now make a move for Pavard and get him to the Allianz Stadium as early as next month.

Juve FC says

We need new right-backs, and Pavard has achievements in European football, along with his role in France winning the World Cup in 2018.

It seems inevitable that he will do well on our books, but we must not forget that he has recently been struggling to play for club and country, which could be a sign that he is on the decline.

It doesn’t make much sense for us to sign a player who can’t play for his current club because that clearly shows that he probably isn’t good enough for us either.

If we buy it, it could also become a liability for us. The best thing will be to sign him on loan in January and watch him.
