FC Barcelona has announced its squad for the last match of the 22/23 Champions League group stage, against Viktoria Plzen.

The Catalan team was eliminated from the competition on matchday 5. Inter Milan’s 4-0 victory over Viktoria Plzen confirmed Barcelona’s elimination from the competition. Barça then suffered a 3-0 loss at the hands of Bayern Munich.

In Group C, Barcelona languish third in the points table with four points from five games. They are 11 points behind group leader Bayern Munich and 6 points behind Inter Milan.

Barca will not be able to bridge the gap between the top two with just one game remaining for them in the Champions League group stage.

Confirmed Barcelona squad vs Viktoria Plzen: Marc-Andre ter Stegen, Hector Bellerin, Gerard Pique, Ousmane Dembele, Pedri, Ansu Fati, Ferran Torres, Marcos Alonso, Jordi Alba, Franck Kessie, Frenkie de Jong, Inaki Pena, Raphinha, Gavi, Pablo Torre, Alex Valle, Alvaro Sanz, Arnau Tenas, Ilias Akhomach, Alejandro Balde, Marc Casado

Star striker Robert Lewandowski was not in Barcelona’s squad for the match. Sergio Busquets will also miss the match, as the Spaniard is serving a suspension.

Eric Garcia and Jules Kounde, who suffered injuries during Barcelona’s 1-0 win over Valencia last week, will also miss the match.

Ronaldo Araujo, Memphis Depay, Sergio Roberto and Andreas Christensen, who are currently sidelined with injuries, are also not included in the squad for the Viktoria Plzen clash.

What happened when Barca faced Viktoria Plzen earlier in the group stage

Barcelona hosted Viktoria Plzen at the Camp Nou in their first match of the 22/23 Champions League. The La Liga team achieved a comfortable victory in that game, defeating the Czech outfit 5-1.

Against Viktoria Plzen, Barcelona took the lead in the 13th minute of the game thanks to a goal from Franck Kessie. Barça doubled their lead in the 34th minute of the match, with Lewandowski finding the goal.

Viktoria Plzen pulled one back just before half-time, in the 44th minute through Jan Sykora. But Barcelona regained their two-goal lead with Lewandowski scoring his second of the night in the 45+3 minute.

Lewandowski then scored his hat-trick in the 67th minute to send Barça 4-1 up. Ferran Torres completed Barcelona’s thrashing of the visitors with a goal in the 71st minute.
