American Austin Williams won the WBA middleweight world title by defeating Englishman Kieron Conway, in Las Vegas, on the Canelo and GGG undercard.

The scorecards were 97-92, 97-92 and 96-93, all for “Ammo”, who put up a great fight, made a good impression and won the vacant WBA regional title.

The 26-year-old noted days ago that he has been struggling with mental health issues, but felt recovered enough to take on a challenge of this magnitude and his confidence and the great work he put in in the ring showed it.

He is very talented and has taken another big step in his career to keep moving up and looking for better fights. It was the 12th career win for Williams, who is undefeated with 9 knockouts. Conway, on the other hand, lowered his record to 18 wins, 3 losses, 1 draw and 4 knockouts.
