Blackpool eyeing Manchester United set-piece coach Eric Ramsay for managerial post – Man United News And Transfer News

Blackpool are taking a look at Manchester United parts manager Eric Ramsay.

Blackpool’s interest in Ramsay comes as pressure mounts on current manager Michael Appleton.

Appleton’s side secured a resounding 4-1 FA Cup win against Premier League side Nottingham Forest.

However, they are having a poor season in the Championship, where they are in 22nd position in the league table.

It is for this reason that the Seasiders are weighing an opportunity for Ramsay.

United signed the 30-year-old from Chelsea, where he furthered his reputation as one of the best future managers in English football.

Prior to his time at Chelsea, Ramsay worked at Swansea City and Shrewsbury.

He was significantly involved in the Swansea and Shrewsbury academy setups. Ramsay was brought to United by Ole Gunnar Solskjær.

When many of Solskjær’s back-room staff left after his dismissal, Ramsay stayed on at Old Trafford to work with Ralf Rangnick.

Erik ten Hag retained his services and the team is now reaping the benefits of his immense work.

United’s set piece routines this season have improved significantly, both offensively and defensively.

Against Nottingham Forest, for example, Ramsay earned plaudits for United’s opening goal of the game.

Christian Eriksen sent in a low cross from the corner flag. Marcus Rashford ran into the space inside the box and accurately pushed the ball into the back of the net.

Against Bournemouth, Casemiro received another cross from Eriksen, who also finished it off. While this rumor is still in its early stages, United’s loss of Ramsay would be a huge blow to the team.
