Chelsea extend worst run since 2012

Chelsea’s loss to Newcastle United has extended an unfortunate record for the Blues that has viewers worried about supporters.

Chelsea overcame a 1-0 loss at St James’ Park after being dominated by the Magpies throughout the match.

The team has already lost four of its five matches and has lost three games in a row (excluding penalty shootouts) for the first time in all competitions since 2002.

Graham Potter was named head coach on Sept. 8 and his first two months in charge have been lackluster at best. Chelsea sit eighth in the table and have collected just 21 points heading into the extended international break.

The club will have several players leaving for Qatar to represent their national teams at the World Cup, including Mason Mount, Kalidou Koulibaly and Mateo Kovacic.
