Wilfried Zaha could leave Crystal Palace soon, as his contract with the club expires this summer. Despite the club having verbally offered an excellent new contract, the Palace talisman is not keen to continue at his club, according to The Sun.

Palace is nowhere near a deal and will become a free agent next summer. In January, he can even sign a pre-contract with any non-Premier League club.

It is unlikely that he will reach an agreement with Palace, since the player has decided to have a new challenge elsewhere. Several discussions took place between the agent and the club about a new big money contract for Zaha. But the club has not yet offered the player a formal contract. All conversations were limited to verbal.

Wilfried Zaha currently earns a salary of £130,000 a week. His new deal offers a significant salary increase with significant bonuses. This is believed to be the most lucrative gaming contract in the club’s history.

However, the possibilities are not over yet. Talks between the club and Wilfried Zaha’s representatives are still ongoing. However, it remains to be seen if Zaha will accept a more improved offer to settle. But doubts are circulating whether Palace can really pay such a high salary for Zaha.

Wilfried Zaha was a product of the Palace academy. He was England’s great young talent other than Sterling. But he went to the Red Devils when Sir Alex Ferguson was in charge at Old Trafford. And with Moyes, he didn’t get as many chances. At that time, Manchester United paid £10m, which will rise to £15m with add-ons. He signed a five and a half year contract in January 2013.

With playing time lacking, Manchester loaned him back to Palace. Crystal Palace decided to sign him on a permanent deal for a region of £3m in 2015. The contract will rise to £6m with bonuses based on performance. United also included a future percentage in their deal.

Despite having interest from Tottenham, Arsenal, Chelsea and Everton, Crystal Palace can keep the Ivory Coast ahead for a long time since re-signing him permanently.

After Patrick Vieira took over as manager, the team let their older players go. But they kept their star man and built the team around him. Zaha enjoyed his best season at Crystal Palace last season. He scored 15 goals in 37 appearances in all competitions. This season he has already recorded six goals and one assist in 11 games.

Wilfried Zaha will turn 30 next week and enter the prime of his career. Despite retaining their place in the English Premier League, Palace have not made any significant progress like other rival clubs. Zaha is possibly looking for better options to win trophies with his future new club.
