The Egyptian striker has played in a number of different roles for Liverpool this season. Against Napoli in their last game of the 22/23 Champions League group stage, Klopp deployed his team in a 4-3-3 formation.

Liverpool cruised to a 2-0 win over Napoli in the game, to end their group stage campaign on a high note. Salah, deployed on the right wing, and Darwin Núñez scored the goals for the rojillos that added the three points.

Salah gave Liverpool the breakthrough in the 85th minute, scoring the ball from close range after Napoli goalkeeper Alex Meret squandered a save. Núñez then sealed Liverpool’s victory in stoppage time, scoring in the 90+7 minute.

Speaking after the match, Salah admitted that playing on the right in a 4-3-3 formation is his best position. However, the Egyptian stressed that he is not the coach and that it is Klopp who decides the tactics.

“It’s not my job, it’s the coach’s job,” he told BT Sport. [via GOAL]. “Any position that makes me feel comfortable, I’m happy about that, but I’ve played the position for five, six years, and I have to say yes, that position is the best for me.

“But I am not the coach, the coach decides the tactics and as a player you have to follow the leader.”

Despite their win over Napoli, Liverpool could only finish second in Champions League Group A. Napoli occupies the first position. Both sides have 15 points from six games. But the Italian team took first place thanks to their superior goal difference.

Meanwhile, Liverpool resume their Premier League campaign below. The Reds face Tottenham Hotspur at the latter’s home on Sunday.

Liverpool, meanwhile, languish in ninth place in the Premier League points table with 16 points from 12 games. Tottenham, meanwhile, is third, with 26 points from 13 games.

Liverpool will try to return to winning ways in the Premier League when they take on Spurs. The Reds have suffered defeats in their previous two Premier League games, losing 1-0 to Nottingham Forest and 2-1 to Leeds United.
