Tottenham Hotspur assistant manager Cristian Stellini has provided an update on the injury Son Heung-Min sustained during their Champions League win over Marseille.

The Premier League team traveled to France to face Marseille in their last match of the 22/23 Champions League group stage. Spurs secured a 2–1 win in that game, courtesy of an injury-time winner from Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg.

That win sealed Tottenham’s place in the Champions League round of 16 and also propelled them top of the Group D points table. However, Spurs suffered an injury hit with Son forced out by a injury.

The 30-year-old suffered a head injury in the first half after colliding with Marseille’s Chancel Mbemba during an aerial challenge. The Tottenham Hotspur attacker was substituted in the 29th minute and appeared unsteady as he left the field.

Speaking after the match, Tottenham Hotspur assistant Stellini said they have to await a medical evaluation of Son. However, he also revealed that Son is feeling better and that he was able to participate in the locker room celebration after his victory.

“At this point, we don’t know. We have to wait for a medical evaluation and we have to wait until tomorrow. Sonny is feeling better now. I saw him in the locker room. He celebrated with us,” Stellini said.

“We’re still not sure if it’s a concussion. It was a wound on her face, his eye is swollen. So we’ll wait until tomorrow.”

As Stellini said, Tottenham Hotspur will review Son’s injury on Wednesday to assess the extent of it.

Son’s injury also leaves him in doubt for Tottenham’s game against Liverpool in the Premier League this weekend.

Tottenham host Liverpool in a Premier League match on Sunday, with Spurs looking to earn all three points against the struggling Reds.

Liverpool arrive at the match against Tottenham Hotspur after their 2-0 victory over Napoli in the Champions League. But the Merseyside side have suffered defeats in their previous two Premier League games.

Meanwhile, Tottenham Hotspur sit third in the Premier League points table with 26 points from 13 matches. They are five points behind Arsenal, who have 31 points from 12 games.
