Arsenal have received an injury boost ahead of their Europa League match against FC Zurich. According to Football.London, Bukayo Saka trained with Arsenal’s first team on Wednesday.

The England international had suffered an injury when Arsenal hosted Nottingham Forest at the Emirates Stadium in a Premier League game last Sunday. The 22-year-old limped off the field in the 27th minute, with Mikel Arteta replacing Saka with Reiss Nelson.

Saka’s return to first-team training is good news for Arsenal, who have four more games to go before the winter break, and for the England team.

His return to training would also suggest he could be available for the Gunners’ selection when they take on FC Zurich in their final game of the 22/23 Europa League group stage.

Football.London also reports that Oleksandr Zinchenko was also part of Arsenal training on Wednesday. The 25-year-old, who joined Arsenal in the summer, has not featured for the Gunners since their win over Tottenham Hotspur.

Zinchenko is recovering from a calf injury, and his return to training suggests he could also be in contention for playing time against FC Zurich.

Meanwhile, Arsenal head into the game following their win over Nottingham Forest last week. The Gunners battled their way to a 5-0 victory over Forest.

The north London side took the lead in the fifth minute when Gabriel Martinelli beat Dean Henderson on Forest’s goal with a header from Bukayo Saka’s cross.

Nelson came on for Saka and then doubled Arsenal’s lead four minutes into the second half. Nelson then scored his second of the match to send Arsenal 3–0 up in the 52nd minute.

Thomas Partey unleashed a spectacular shot from outside the box to set up a four-goal cushion for Arsenal in the 57th minute. The Gunners sealed their victory with Martin Odegaard scoring in the 78th minute.

Meanwhile, Arsenal had suffered a shock defeat in their previous game in the Europa League. They succumbed to a 2-0 loss to PSV Eindhoven last week.

Despite the defeat, Mikel Arteta’s men lead Group A with 12 points in five games. They have four wins and one loss. PSV is second in the group, with 10 points from five games.

The game between the Gunners and FC Zurich kicks off on Friday at 1:30 am Indian Standard Time.
