World Cup 2022 commentator schedule on Telemundo

Telemundo features a variety of commentators and personalities for its coverage of the 2022 World Cup. The Spanish-language venue for the World Cup in the United States is available primarily through the OTA Telemundo channel. However, certain games can only be accessed in the group stage through Universo.

Fortunately, coverage in Spanish is easy for those in the United States. All 64 World Cup games are available through Peacock Premium. NBC’s paid streaming platform offers live broadcasts, pre- and post-game coverage and a dedicated World Cup channel 24/7.

This year the World Cup has an expanded team, with talent working as game commentators and analysts or hosts in the studio. Of course, the Telemundo studio, like other broadcasters at the World Cup, is live from the host nation. Telemundo is live from Souq Waqif Marketplace.

Telemundo’s World Cup commentators don’t have to travel far for the entire tournament. Here’s who is calling the games during the World Cup in Qatar for Telemundo.

Telemundo World Cup commentators

Telemundo’s main commentator is the famous Andrés Cantor. The announcer is one of the most experienced in the world of football. The six-time Emmy Award winner has been privy to some of the most recognizable moments in World Cup history.

Qatar 2022 marks 32 years since his famous 1990 World Cup “goal” first rose to fame. However, this is Cantor’s 12th World Cup overall.

Joining Cantor in Qatar in the commentary booth is Manuel Sol. Sol and Cantor are a common duo, particularly with Telemundo at the World Cup. His camaraderie shows on the broadcasts. Sol started with Telemundo in 2013 after a 15-year playing career highlighted by his time with Chivas.

Copán Álvarez is a play-by-play veteran with Telemundo, and he reprises that role on Qatar. The same applies to two-time Emmy winner Sammy Sadovnik. Finally, Jorge Calvo is in constant calls at the World Cup in Qatar.

On the analysis front, Eduardo Biscayart has four World Cups and a staggering nine Champions League Finals to his name. He fits in very well with what is already an established and proven commentary team for Telemundo at the World Cup. Other analyst names include Uruguayan legend and 2010 Golden Boot winner Diego Forlán. Another scorer from that same tournament, the Argentine Maxi Rodríguez, is also under the name umbrella of Telemundo.

In addition, Telemundo will bring in people like Diana Rincón, Amelia Valverde and Natalia Astrain as game analysts.

Pregame coverage for each game begins an hour in advance. All games are also available through Peacock Premium.
