Juventus facing competition from Roma and Galatasaray for VicarioJuvefc.com

As we reported a few days ago, Juventus are already looking for a new goalkeeper who could be Wojciech Szczesny’s long-term replacement.

The Bianconeri have reportedly cast Guglielmo Vicario in the role as the 26-year-old continues to impress at Empoli.

The custodian earned a call-up from Italy manager Roberto Mancini for the latest international break, but has yet to make his international debut for the Azzurri.

However, it appears the Bianconeri weren’t the only ones to take note of the Italian’s aptitude.

According to Il Tirreno via ilBianconero, Juventus will compete with Vicario both from Italy and abroad.

The source names Roma as the other top Serie A team hot on the custodian’s trail, while Turkish giants Galatasaray will try to lure him to Istanbul.

The goalkeeper rose through the youth ranks at Udinese but made his breakthrough last season after joining Empoli in the summer of 2021.

Juve FC says

As we said before, it would be unwise and unfair to sign a brilliant goalkeeper like Vicario if the club does not intend to consolidate him as a regular starter.

Although Szczesny’s contract expires in 2024, it shows no signs of slowing down yet. In fact, the Pole well deserves a new contract.

But as is often the case these days, Juventus will take the financial side into account, and Vicario would surely earn significantly less than the former Arsenal goalkeeper.
