Patrice Evra gives surprise reason for Marcus Rashford’s recent upturn in form – Man United News And Transfer News

Manchester United striker Marcus Rashford has reinvigorated himself this season and is enjoying some of his best football in a long time.

Rashford currently has seven goals in all appearances for United this season and recently achieved centurion status, becoming the last player to reach 100 club goals for the 20-time English champions.

According to former United defender and fan favorite Patrice Evra, Rashford’s resurgence is due to the player focusing more on his exploits on the pitch than off it.

About this, Evra wrote for Betfair: “In recent years some people have been disappointed with Rashford’s performances, and we hear more about him off the pitch than on it. He did great things off the court.”

“What was missing was his performance on the pitch, and I’m really glad he admitted that. Now, he has a different mindset. I think he has solved his problems and he is really enjoying his football with Erik ten Hag”.

Evra added: “All the players would like to have his speed, quality and technique. He has everything. He needs to mature and that’s why I think he needs to focus on football. If he does it, he will accomplish great things.”

Evra said there was a big difference between the Rashford who burst onto the scene under Louis van Gaal and the player who seemed lost in the final days of Ole Gunnar Solkjaer’s career and during Ralf Rangnick’s tenure.

Once again, the former defender attributed this to Rashford’s concern for his noble activities off the field that earned him so much praise globally.

The Frenchman went on to praise Rashford, saying that he can become one of the best players in the world if he continues to focus on his playing career.

However, he cautioned that United fans should not get carried away and should give the 25-year-old time to reach his full potential. He asked Rashford for patience, whom he described as a young promise.

Evra has backed United’s number 10 to return to the England squad ahead of the World Cup in Qatar, but has issued a warning that the striker has a fight on his hands to become a regular starter under Gareth Southgate.

One solution for Rashford, as the former winger has pointed out, is to continue playing well and take advantage of any opportunity that comes his way.
