Juventus to resume Depay pursuit in JanuaryJuvefc.com

In recent years, Memphis Depay had been close to signing for Juventus on more than one occasion.

Last summer, many thought the deal was all but done in no time, with the striker on the brink of terminating his contract with Barcelona.

However, the Dutchman’s contractual demands were deemed too high and, in the end, he ended up staying at the Camp Nou.

However, the 28-year-old remains on the sidelines, only making a few appearances at the start of the season before picking up an injury.

Thus, according to Sport via Calciomercato, Juventus will revive their interest in Depay, and will launch another attack in January.

This season, the player has played two LaLiga games so far, scoring just one goal in the process. His current contract with Barça expires at the end of the season.

Juve FC says

The former Lyon star obviously offers something different from our current generation of strikers, mainly due to his speed and explosiveness.

However, he has not been at his best since joining the Blaugrana in 2021. He also failed to make the most of his previous spell at Manchester United.

So the Dutch international isn’t exactly a guaranteed bet, and the club can’t afford another high-earning worker who doesn’t justify his hefty salary.
