Serie A giants Juventus are reportedly monitoring Italian goalkeeper Guglielm Vicario, who currently plays for Italian side Empoli.

Gugliemo Vicario began his football career at Bearzi. The goalkeeper then joined Udinese’s youth setup in 2013.

Vicario graduated from the Udiense youth academy and was loaned out to Fontanafredda of the lower divisions. He played one season with the club and then signed for Serie C side Venezia in 2015. He soon became a starter for Venezia and helped them win Serie C.

Vicario played four seasons for Venezia and then joined Cagliari on a five-year deal. However, the goalkeeper failed to seal his place in the Cagliari squad and he was loaned out to Perugia. After his impressive season with the Serie B outfit, he joined Empoli. His loan deal was finally made permanent at the start of this season. Vicario made his debut with the national team call-up earlier this year.

According to a report by La Nazione, Serie A giants Juventus are exploring the possibility of signing Italian goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario from Empoli.

Since he arrived at Empoli, Vicario has become its undisputed starter. Vicario has started for Empoli in all 12 Serie-A games. The Italian goalkeeper is currently averaging 3.2 saves per game. He has kept 3 clean sheets so far.

The goalkeeper had a brilliant last season that established him as one of the best goalkeepers in the league. He is currently 26 years old and has enormous potential. As a result, many large teams are currently monitoring the custodian of Empoli. Juventus has already entered that list.

The Bianconeri currently have Polish goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny as their number one goalkeeper. Despite Juve’s poor form, Szczesny has been one of the team’s best players so far.

However, he is 32 years old and will be 34 when his contract with Juventus ends in 2024. So, before that, Juventus want to groom another goalkeeper to be his successor. Hence they are looking at Gugliemo Vicario.

Now Vicario signed a new contract with Empoli earlier this season. So Juventus will have to pay a lot of money if they want to land the stopper in Turin.

As well as Vicario, Juventus are also following Valencia goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili. the Georgian has been one of the best goalkeepers in LaLiga in recent months. Like Vicario, he too is young and a very bright prospect.

Now Juventus are off to a poor start to their Serie A campaign. The Italian giants have only won six of their opening twelve matches. With twenty-two points, they are currently in sixth position in the table. Massimiliano Allegri’s team will face Paris Saint-Germain in their next match.
