United set to build “hotel football” at their Carrington training ground – Man United News And Transfer News

Plans have been revealed for Manchester United to build a team hotel at the club’s training ground in Carrington.

The Red Devils are also poised to move forward with further improvements to the complex, bringing the facility in line with its rivals.

United have been carrying out a series of modernization measures at the training complex, according to The Mirror.

And with a new state-of-the-art gym now being installed, the club has also revamped the players’ pool.

With continued popularity in the women’s game, major upgrades have also been completed to the United women’s team facilities.

And United’s famed youth program hasn’t been overlooked either with the changes in mind, with a new academy center currently under construction.

But it is the main addition of a “luxury accommodation block” that really stands out in United’s plans, as the club appear to have taken a look at other teams’ facilities and paid attention.

This addition would see the team change their usual match day ritual, which will spell the end of the team staying at the Lowry before home games.

The five-star hotel on the Manchester-Salford border, which United have used for years ahead of games at Old Trafford, has raised several issues in recent years.

With the team tucked away so close to the city center, protests over the proposed Super League last year resulted in the team manager being delayed and the match against Liverpool being postponed.

And in this season’s clash with rivals Anfield, the team’s usual pre-match meeting at Lowry was canceled due to security fears over protesters against the Glazer family estate.

With United looking to the future when it comes to team facilities, Erik ten Hag and his team will no doubt benefit from being given complete privacy by the hotel ahead of upcoming fixtures.
