Llorente says Milik dreamed of Juventus move since his Napoli days -Juvefc.com

In recent years, Arkaduisz Milik has come close to signing for Juventus on more than one occasion. For one reason or another, the move had never materialized until last summer when the Pole made an initial switch on loan from Olympique Marseille.

However, the delay was surely not due to the player’s desire, as he was apparently hell-bent on joining the Bianconeri a long time ago.

Former Juventus striker Fernando Llorente revealed that Milik had dreamed of playing for the Turin giants since their days together at Napoli.

The experienced Spaniard joined the Partenopei in the summer of 2019, acting as a substitute for the Polish striker.

A year later, both players were out after the arrival of Victor Osimhen. Back then, Milik hoped to secure a move to Turin, while Llorente’s advice only strengthened his desire.

“I’m not surprised by Milik’s transfer to Juventus, because he was already talking about it when we were together at Napoli,” the 37-year-old revealed in an interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport via Ilbianconero.

“Arek already dreamed of the black and white shirt. During the period when Milik and I were training alone, he asked me for advice.

“I told him that Juventus is a crazy club and that he has to leave if they call him. I’m glad to see him happy and fit.

“The bianconeri returned his smile and it is paying off with goals. Arek is a complete striker. He has a strong head, a great left foot and he knows how to play football”. concluded the former Athletic Bilbao attacker.
