TG4 Card Reshuffle – Some Alterations to this week’s TV show

The TG4 streaming card touted by MHD might look a bit different than initially planned.

Eric Donovan [15(8)-2(2)] brings terrestrial television back to boxing when he fights Khalil El Hadri [13(7)-1(0)] for the EBU EU featherweight title at the Europa Hotel on Saturday night.

Former European Champion Tommy McCarthy continues to feature as main support, while Conor Quinn continues to make his long-awaited Irish debut. The delicious Clash of Cavan between Dominic Donegan and Owen Duffy remains and looks to add some serious entertainment to the card and Owen O’Neill is still fighting, but not against Martin Quinn as expected.

‘The Honeybadger’ Eddie Treacy is also off the card for reasons beyond the control of him or his promoter.

All of that means that the reverse order of execution for the TV portion of the card is likely to be as follows:

Eric Donovan vs. Khalil El HadriTommy McCarthy vs. Reinis PorozovsDominic Donegan vs. Owen DuffyOwen O’Neill vs. Marek LaskowskiConor Quinn vs. Angel Gabriel Chavez

Speaking to Boxing Tickets NI over the weekend, show promoter Mark Dunlop revealed that he hoped to make some additions to the card and that, subject to approval of the opponent by the British Boxing Board of Control, Edward Donovan, Gerard Hughes and Nick Campbell could appear. .

Donovan’s brother Paddy will provide commentary for fight night, taking on the role of pundit, so he will most likely be in Belfast next Saturday regardless. If the middleweight from Limerick gets to box, it will be his first fight in Ireland. If Hughes trades leather on the undercard, it will be his first pro fight. The Ballycastle native confirmed it would be delivered in May this year, but has yet to compete.

Scottish heavyweight Nick Campbell was last seen defeating Jay McFarlane in an extremely entertaining Scottish heavyweight title fight live on Sky, he may return after injury. His appearance on Irish television may fan the flames regarding a possible fight with Thomas Carty, the Dublin gaeilgeoir who has recently called him out.
