“It is purely my fault that we lost.” Di Maria apologises to Juventus for his red card.Juvefc.com

Juventus attacker Angel di Maria has apologized for his red card in the 1-0 loss at the hands of Monza.

The Argentine was back in the starting XI for the trip to the bottom side of the table.

The Bianconeri were hoping to pick up a win and get back into form.

They met a very stubborn Monza who was determined to take all the points.

It turned out to be enough and they picked up an unlikely victory in the match, putting the Bianconeri to shame.

But the turning point in that match was a red card for Di Maria in the 40th minute.

Juve had to navigate a tough match for more than 50 minutes with ten men and failed to do so.

The attacker knows that his expulsion was due to his fault and delivered a message to the fans after the game.

He wrote on Instagram:

“I want to apologize to everyone for this inappropriate reaction I had on the field. Leaving the team with one less at such a difficult moment in the championship cost us the game. Losing is my fault.

“I am very sorry. I am a professional but also a human being who makes mistakes and knows how to recognize them. I want to apologize to everyone for this inappropriate reaction I have had on the pitch.

“Leaving the team with one less at such a difficult moment in the championship has cost us the game. Losing is all my fault. So sorry. I am a professional but also a human being who makes mistakes and knows how to recognize them”.

Juve FC says

For a team that has little confidence, we had to win that game and it required everyone to stay on the pitch.

The dismissal of Di María made our work difficult. His apology will not change the outcome of the game, and this outcome could cost Max Allegri his job.
